If you've been following along at all, you already know The Russell Grounds is our special little project.

We bought this land in Conestogo about a year ago with a pretty simple idea:

build a place where people gather, create, and celebrate... and name it after someone who would have loved every second of it.

That's the whole story behind "The Russell Grounds."

A space to gather. A place to remember. And a place to keep making memories in real time, mess and all.

Since then it's been half-torn-out gardens and half-planted ones, a barn we're still figuring out (still no power or water out there, for the record), string lights strung by hand more than once because the first way looked wrong, and a lot of "let's just see how this looks" moments that somehow keep working out.

And somewhere in the middle of all that dirt and trial and error, we realized this place is actually really good to capture beautiful photos.

So we're opening it up.

Here's what that means

Starting this fall season, The Russell Grounds is open for creative sessions, family sessions, minis... whatever your heart can imagine.

Think the pergola strung with lights and dried florals.

The little barn with a cute seating setup.

A stack of split firewood.

An antique trunk and a chippy white chair tucked under the pines.

Fall pumpkins and plaid or snow-dusted lanterns and a wool throw.

We're not a polished studio, and we're not trying to be one. This is a family property that's still very much under construction, which means you get texture, imperfection, and real light... not a cookie-cutter backdrop. If that's your thing,

What's ready now!

The outdoor spaces are slightly styled and ready to go. Shooting here would give you access to the gardens, the pergola sitting area, the barn exterior, the fire pit (imagine a cute little marshmallow session with your kiddies by the fire), and the wooded edges of the property.

Note: Indoor space is not included, but if you need anything - we are family too - so we can make anything work (little ones needing a bathroom - no problem)

What does "slightly styled" mean?

We do have some items already out: lights, a couch, blankets, florals, hay, pumpkins. We also have a storage of options (sleighs, Christmas trees, antique chests, suitcases, etc...). We will make sure the space is ready for you - but we want to talk to you personally to see if we can make it better, or help get it ready for your vision!
